The COSTUMAKERS Activewear One Way Separating Zipper in Light Beige, 45 cm (18"), is a medium-weight metal-tooth zipper created for sport and outerwear projects that require a depe ndable front opening. Built with #5 silver metal teeth, it balances strength and smooth operation, making it a solid choice for jackets, vests, fleeces, and technical layers that see regular movement. The one-way separating design means the chain fully disengages at the hem so the garment opens and closes cleanly. During installation, interface the zipper area, align the tape to placket edges, and baste to verify hem and collar alignment before your topstitch pass. Stitch with a zipper foot, keeping the needle close to the teeth without contact to maintain a free-running slider. After sewing, check the engagement box and pin at the base to ensure crisp alignment when the zip is closed. The Light Beige tape coordinates with common activewear palettes for a professional finish; pair with tonal thread for a blended look or a slightly contrasting shade for visible topstitching on plackets and collars. Care is straightforward—follow the garment fabric’s directions and use a press cloth near the metal components to protect the textile. If you prefer reversible functionality on compatible builds, COSTUMAKERS reversible sliders are available separately. Keep a range of lengths and colours on hand and you’ll be prepared for new makes, alterations, and repairs with consistent, repeatable results. Show more
