This circa 1987 Rolex Day-Date 36 Ref. 18038 is a classic example of Rolex’s prestigious solid-gold dress watch. Its 36mm Oyster case is crafted from 18K yellow gold and features a fluted bezel, champagne dial and Rolex’s signature day and date displays. The dial features applied gold hour markers, luminous hands, a day display at 12 o’clock and a date window beneath the Cyclops magnifying lens at 3 o’clock. The watch is powered by the automatic Rolex Caliber 3055, which introduced a convenient quickset-date function to the Day-Date collection. This example is fitted with an aftermarket black leather strap. The original 18K yellow gold President bracelet is not included.
