Grape: Blaufrankisch Region: Slovenia>Posavje Notes: Sustainable Farming, Neutral Oak aging. Description: Terroir-driven, unfiltered, native yeasts, with minimal use of sulfites just at bottling, this 100% Blaufränkisch comes from the private family vineyards of Bojan Kobal, the master winemaker behind the Pullus line of wines (yes, we have that too). Kobal really makes the terroir of Štajerska in south east Slovenia, speak in this bottle. A delightful, multi-layered, and elegant expression of the Blaufränkisch grape at a bargain of a price. Blaufränkisch is a premium dark, ruby-colored wine with ripe blackberries, chocolate, black mulberries and dried plums aromas. The harmony of fruity aromas is nicely rounded up with wood characteristics with a moderately long velvet finish. *Natural and Organic Staff Review: "A lively balance of fruit to earthy/wood. I am a light/fruity gal and this fits in with my tastes, yet brings a little extra to the table. Natural wine from Slovenia, try it with a brick or wood oven pizza!"
