Print Quest: Kids 3D Printing Camp is a fun, hands-on week of learning designed for young makers ages 7 to 14. Throughout the camp, students are introduced to the exciting world of 3D printing through guided, age-appropriate activities that build confidence, creativity, and real technical skills. Each day of camp focuses on a different part of the 3D printing process. Campers learn how a 3D printer works, get familiar with its main components, practice loading filament, and prepare their first print. As the week continues, they explore common filament types, learn how to choose the right material and build surface, and discover how to browse and select beginner-friendly models for printing. Students are also introduced to multi-color printing and how systems like an AMS work, giving them a chance to see how more advanced prints are created. Later in the week, they learn the basics of printer care and maintenance, including simple cleaning and upkeep habits that help keep a printer running well. The camp wraps up with a final project and celebration of everything they’ve learned. Campers will also use 3D printing pens for hands-on creative activities that help them understand how melted filament, layers, color, and structure work before applying those ideas to real 3D printers. This camp is designed to be beginner-friendly, engaging, and hands-on from start to finish. No prior experience is required.
