Pete's source of inspiration has always been "the sound of a high-output PAF shoved into a cranked Plexi that a legendary guitarist used to work his magic in the 70s and 80s." Deve lopment of these new pickups began with a special winding technique specifically for the Thornbucker. By increasing the number of turns in the coil, we designed a maximum resistance of 9kΩ. The Alnico 2 magnet delivers a warm top end that's a perfect match for high-gain British tone. Playing high notes provides body and openness without overpowering the top end. The Thornbucker II offers warmth, power, sweetness, and clarity.SPECIFICATIONS Magnet Type: Alnico II DC Resistance: 53mm: ~9.3KΩ Wire Type: Plain Enamel Color: Raw Nickel *The Chrome with Window cover specification that is installed on the Pete Thorn Signature HSS is not sold separately.
