The COSTUMAKERS General Purpose Closed End Zipper in Burnt Orange, 55 cm (22 in), is a versatile everyday closure for dressmaking and tailoring where a non-separating zipper is req uired. Built with a #2.5 nylon coil, it offers a slim, flexible profile that follows garment contours and helps seams lie flat after pressing. The lightweight construction reduces bulk while providing reliable function for regular wear. Use it for centre-back dress openings, skirt side or back seams, and trouser applications that finish into a fixed hem or waistband. For best results, stabilise the zipper area with lightweight fusible or stay tape, baste to verify alignment, then stitch close to the coil with a zipper foot so the slider moves freely. After sewing, test the pull from end to end to confirm smooth travel and adjust your stitch line if needed. The Burnt Orange tape supports a neat, coordinated finish—ideal when a small portion of the tape or pull may be visible at a neckline or waist. Pair with matching thread for a blended look, or choose a slightly deeper or lighter tone for subtle topstitch definition. Care is straightforward: follow the base fabric’s laundering guidance and press with a cloth, avoiding direct heat on the nylon coil. Keep several colours and lengths on hand and you’ll be ready for alterations, new garments, and routine repairs with consistent, professional results. Show more
