This new series, "SLP Sound Lab Project," was created to serve as a guidepost for such drummers. Not only do we offer a wide selection of shell materials, but we also craft shells with precision down to the millimeter of shell thickness. And to maximize their potential, we use newly developed hoops and tubular lugs in addition to existing parts. Combining these elements creates a wide variety of sounds, making this a snare drum series suitable for all genres. The SLP G-Hickory is a limited edition snare drum made with hickory, the most popular material for drumsticks, and elm for the outer plies, resulting in a thick body of 11mm (12 ply). It features a bright, clear tone reminiscent of maple, a warm mid-low range, and a crisp, dry sound. The shell size is 14 inches in diameter, and it is a "G snare" molded with a thick body of 11 mm, but the depth is set to a shallow size of 4.5 inches. The combination of the die-cast hoop, which provides a clear, solid attack, and the carbon steel snare wire, which produces a crisp buzz, creates an outstanding balance of presence that stands out in the band sound and rich expressiveness that blends in well with the ensemble.
