Almost immediately after A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh was published there was a merchandising frenzy and by the late 1920s every child wanted a Winnie-the-Pooh bear. Debbie Jewson charts the history of the earliest Pooh teddy bears through the decades up to the present day. With a wealth of colour photographs and detailed descriptions, the book provides an identification guide in addition to revealing some never-before-seen Winnie-the-Pooh bears with intriguing backgrounds. If your passion is a classic jointed Pooh teddy by Chad Valley or Merrythought, an artist-made Winnie-the-Pooh by R. John Wright or a soft and cuddly mass-marketed Pooh bear, and whether your preference is classic style or Disney style, this indispensable guide has something for everyone.
