The Ashford SampleIt Loom is the smallest rigid heddle Ashford makes, here in its 10 in width at 3 lb, so it packs in the canvas carry bag and weaves in your lap with the back of the loom on the table edge. It arrives as sanded beech parts you wax and screw together, and the reed support blocks take two reeds, so a second reed is all you add for double heddle weaving. With or without the stand Both are the same loom. The SampleIt Loom Stand holds it at a weaving angle with no table and adjusts to both SampleIt widths, so it stays with you if you add the other one. Without it, the loom clamps to a table or sits in your lap. If you're torn, call or chat with us. Extra reeds in 2.5, 5, 10, 12.5 and 15 dpi Second heddle Support blocks take two reeds. Add a second reed of the same dpi for double width, double layer and finer setts Tension Cog and pawl on each roller, so the warp holds where you set it Size 13 1/4 in wide, 18 1/2 in long, 5 in high Weight 1.4kg (3 lb) Build Beech hardwood, natural unfinished, assembly required Spare reeds and add-ons The reed in the box is the 10 in SampleIt reed in 7.5 dpi, and a spare or a second reed is the same part. Finer yarn takes a finer reed, and 5/2 or 10/2 cotton wants 12.5 or 15 dpi. Cardboard warp sticks, cross sticks and pick-up sticks come in this width too, and a pick-up stick frees the second shuttle for the sampler's pattern rows. The canvas carry bag fits either SampleIt, and Ashford's Finishing Wax Polish gives the matt finish the booklet recommends before you build it. For wider cloth on the same loom, the SampleIt 16 in shares its reeds with the Rigid Heddle of that width. For longer warps and indirect warping, the Rigid Heddle Loom runs up to 48 in with warping holes under the loom. For a loom that arrives assembled and folds with the weaving on, the Knitters Loom comes in three widths.
