In her new collection The Three Suns, Hannah Carrick explores the transformative power of light through a recurring circular motif. Each composition features three suns, serving as both a symbol of the sun’s constant presence and a reflection of its continual change. The series examines how light cycles through different states, subtly altering color, form, atmosphere, and emotion, and how these shifts influence the way we perceive the world around us. Carrick’s paintings consider the interplay between sunlight and perception, revealing how landscapes, objects, and even memories are never static but continuously reshaped by light. Through the repeated motif of the three suns, the works invite viewers to reflect on the fluidity of experience and the quiet, ever-present ways in which light informs our emotional and visual understanding of our surroundings.
