**Sweatshirts are 6" larger in chest size than the t-shirts** John Muir was an environmentalist whose impact on the conservation of the wilderness of the American West is hard to overstate. Muir convinced Theodore Roosevelt to give Yosemite Valley federal protections and was instrumental in the founding of several other National Parks. Muir saw the unsustainable exploitation of the western states and advocated for lifestyles with less impact on the land, encouraging people to cooperate with and appreciate nature rather than exploit it for resources and disregard the importance of balance. Many wilderness areas and ancient trees were protected from ruin for future generations thanks to Muir's tireless advocacy. Muir also co-founded the Sierra Club, which continues his legacy. This shirt captures the spirit of Muir's writings, showing anthropomorphized animals appreciating the beauty of nature. A quote from Muir reminds us that we are a part of nature, not above it or removed from it; he wrote, "The sun shines not on us but in us, the rivers flow not past but through us."
