Copper Peptide (GHK-Cu) Regenerative and Protective Actions of the GHK-Cu Peptide in the Light of the New Gene Data International Journal of Molecular Sciences · 2018 · mechanistic review This review reports that GHK-Cu increases collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycan synthesis in skin models and alters expression of a large share of human genes, and cites 12-week facial cream trials in which GHK-Cu improved collagen production in 70% of treated women and reduced measured wrinkle volume compared with control creams. Sodium hyaluronate and other hyaluronic acid forms Advantages of Hyaluronic Acid and Its Combination with Other Bioactive Ingredients in Cosmeceuticals Molecules · 2021 · mechanistic review This review reports that hyaluronic acid binds water up to 1,000 times its own volume, that high-molecular-weight forms hold moisture as a surface film while low-molecular-weight forms penetrate further, and cites topical work showing measurable improvement in periorbital wrinkles after 28 days with multi-molecular-weight formulas. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 Safety Assessment of Tripeptide-1, Hexapeptide-12, Their Metal Salts and Fatty Acyl Derivatives, and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 as Used in Cosmetics International Journal of Toxicology · 2018 · mechanistic review The Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel reviewed the published and industry data on these peptides, reported that they function as skin-conditioning agents, and concluded they are safe in cosmetics at present concentrations of use. Evidence note: Strongest for GHK-Cu and hyaluronic acid on appearance outcomes: the copper peptide review cites 12-week facial cream trials with measured collagen and wrinkle-volume results, and the hyaluronic acid review cites topical work on periorbital wrinkles at 28 days. The palmitoyl peptides rest on an expert-panel assessment that characterises them as skin-conditioning agents. Each source studied the ingredients rather than this particular serum.
