7 Biblical Reasons Christians Should Choose Burial Instead of Cremation This teaching examines the biblical and theological case for burial over cremation, presenting seven key reasons rooted in Scripture and Christian doctrine. The 7 Reasons: Burial was the standard practice among godly people in the Bible - Scripture consistently shows God's people choosing burial as the honorable way to care for the deceased. God is not yet finished with the body - Though the body has died, God has future purposes for it in the resurrection. Fire represents God's wrath and judgment in Scripture - Throughout the Bible, the destruction of a body or object by fire symbolizes God's judgment and wrath. How we dispose of a body demonstrates honor or dishonor - The method of caring for the deceased communicates respect or disrespect for the person. A Christian's body belongs to God - Our bodies are not our own; they belong to the Lord and should be treated accordingly. God describes cremation as a violation of His law - Scripture presents cremation as a transgression against God's commands. Cremation has roots in pagan religion - The practice is rooted in the darkness of false, heathen religious systems. Key Doctrinal Contrast: Burial aligns with the Christian doctrine of bodily resurrection Cremation aligns with the Hindu doctrine of reincarnation Running Time: 58 minutes
