Gourmands are all the rage now, so we’re always on the hunt for the ones that do things a little differently, and the masters at Montale definitely came through. Nectarous and celebratory passionfruit intertwines with a silky-smooth coffee softened by a sweetly spiced milk that’s warmed by clove and the snappy-green, chilled spice of cardamom. Gloriously, the coffee never tramples the juicy fruit, and the fruit, even as it’s dosed with the exotic floral-leather of saffron, never clashes with the coffee, making their duet cause a double- take. Intense amber and billowing musks make this rare treat as opulent as palace marble. Notes include passionfruit, cardamom, saffron, clove, milk, coffee, musk, and amber. Montale is the creation of Pierre Montale, who worked as an official perfumer for the Saudi royal family before returning to Paris to introduce Western perfume lovers to the rich world of Middle Eastern perfumery ingredients.
