At an LDS ward dance transformed into a crepe-paper heaven, three couples circle the floor and their own hearts: teenage Brad nursing a bruised ego with patient older friend Janet; eternal bachelor MC Howard hiding behind jokes; and newly divorced Alison learning to be a person again. Meanwhile married Neil and Karen quietly rediscover each other. Carol Lynn Pearson's beloved short work—later adapted as an award-winning film and stage musical—unveils how people dip and sway between their facades and their deepest yearnings for love. The book behind the award-winning LDS film and stage musical—now in a fresh edition. A wickedly funny, deeply tender look at Mormon dating and marriage that will have you laughing and tearing up in the same paragraph. Three couples, one church dance, and every version of love you've ever felt. From beloved author Carol Lynn Pearson (Goodbye, I Love You)—a small book with an enormous heart. Perfect for an LDS adult—single, dating, or married—who enjoys warm, insightful fiction that lovingly pokes fun at Mormon dating and marriage culture while affirming real love.
