Solid Gold emerged from a complete recipe revamp led by Brewmaster Jeremy, who built the grain bill around flaked corn and crystal malts, then added Perle hops for a clean bitterness backbone and Lemondrop hops for a distinctive citrus character. Fermented with traditional lager yeast and kept to a lean 20 IBUs, the result sits at the intersection of accessible American lager and craft-brewery attention to ingredient quality.Tasting NotesAroma: Sweet corn and grainy dough rise first, followed by a subtle hop character leaning toward fresh lemon peel and light herbal notes. The overall impression is clean and inviting without any heavy malt weight.Taste: The entry is bright with lemony sweetness from the Lemondrop hops, quickly meeting a gentle corn sweetness and slight graininess through the mid-palate. A doughy, bread-like quality develops as it moves across the tongue, balanced by the faintest floral hop edge. The body stays very light, with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel that belies its low ABV.Finish: Crisp and relatively dry, the finish clears the palate cleanly with just a trace of bready malt lingering. There is no hop bitterness hanging around — it simply fades, leaving you ready for the next sip.How to Drink Solid GoldSolid Gold drinks best ice cold, straight from the can or poured into a chilled pint glass to let the lemon-tinged aromatics open up slightly. At 4.4% ABV, it is purpose-built as a session beer — enjoy several without fatigue. Michelada: The corn sweetness and clean finish hold up well against lime, hot sauce, and Clamato. Shandy: Mix half-and-half with fresh lemonade; the existing Lemondrop hop character reinforces the citrus rather than clashing with it. Beer-a-Rita: Use Solid Gold as the lager float in a frozen margarita — its light body and low bitterness blend seamlessly with tequila and lime.
