Photographed from directly above, a ballerina in a black tutu is caught mid-position on an expanse of pale ground, her shadow falling long and sharp beside her. The tutu opens into a dark circle; the shadow repeats it, stretched and softened. The image works on the contrast between the two marks — the hard, dense disc of the dancer and the loose grey echo running away from it — with nothing else in the frame to break the white.Fine art giclée print on premium archival paper.
