Primal, volcanic and psychologically charged. Mendittorosa Id is one of the most raw and instinctive fragrances in the house's Odori d'Anima collection, an Eau de Parfum of hot spi ce, iris and violet over birch, labdanum, oud and Ceylon cinnamon. Fiery, earthy, emotional and intensely atmospheric, it was composed by perfumer Amélie Bourgeois, with concept and creative design by Stefania Squeglia. The Story Id is inspired by Freud's concept of the "Id," the primal unconscious mind driven by instinct, desire, fear and emotion, and explores humanity's deepest emotional impulses through scent. The name also nods to "Iddu," the local nickname for the volcano Stromboli, and the fragrance is built around volcanic landscapes and primal energy. The house calls it dark, passionate and free-spirited, with an iris heart beneath volcanic-feeling layers of violet, iris and oud, and a generous dose of labdanum that gives it a raw character. It forms the Odori d'Anima Trilogy with Alfa and Omega. How It Smells OpeningHot spices, smoky mineral warmth and dark woods, led by ravensara. HeartClove and nutmeg heat sit alongside a floral core of iris, violet and jasmine, giving the spice an unexpectedly powdery, floral centre. Dry DownBalsamic resins, earthy amber and almost volcanic textures: birch, labdanum, Siam benzoin, Ceylon cinnamon, oud and Indonesian patchouli over ambroxan and white musk. The fragrance feels primal, instinctual and deeply alive.
