Laevo Menthol hits immediately with crystalline peppermint coldness that penetrates and diffuses powerfully. Its camphoric sweetness adds medicinal depth whilst maintaining clean freshness. The cooling sensation lingers, creating perceived temperature drop on skin. You'll find l-menthol essential for functional perfumery in shaving products, aftershaves and cooling gels where its TRPM8 receptor activation delivers genuine cooling. It excels at minute doses for lifting top notes and adding sparkle to citrus accords. Use it to create authentic peppermint and spearmint systems or emphasise floral notes through menthyl esters. Combine l-menthol with eucalyptus and camphor for enhanced cooling effects or blend with peppermint oil to intensify mint character. Pair with rose absolutes where menthyl esters highlight floral sweetness. This crystalline powerhouse transforms compositions with mere traces. Menthol vs Menthone Menthol laevo smells medicinal, icy and camphoric whilst menthone offers sweeter, gentler mint with herbal-green character. Where menthol delivers aggressive cooling punch that dominates compositions, menthone provides subtle mint freshness that enhances florals. Choose menthol for functional cooling and powerful mint impact; choose menthone for delicate mint nuance in complex accords.
