The MUTEC MC2 is a versatile AES/EBU distribution amplifier and format converter designed to simplify the distribution, conversion, and refreshing of professional digital audio and synchronization signals. Supporting both AES/EBU and AES/EBU ID interfaces in a single unit, it enables reliable signal distribution across a wide range of studio, broadcast, and live production environments. Low jitter PLL technology helps regenerate incoming signals for stable, dependable performance, while support for sampling rates from 32 kHz to 192 kHz ensures compatibility with a broad range of digital audio systems. In addition to distributing digital audio and reference signals, the MC2 can convert AES3 digital audio into AES11 synchronization signals in real time, making it easy to integrate devices that require dedicated sync references. It also provides automatic conversion between AES/EBU and AES/EBU ID formats, configurable reference pass functionality, input lock detection, and selectable AES/EBU ID output voltage for extended cable runs. With six AES/EBU outputs, two AES/EBU ID outputs, a straightforward front panel interface, and an international power supply, the MC2 is well suited for expanding master clock systems, extending signal distribution, and maintaining synchronized operation throughout professional audio installations.
