Designed to extract fine detail and dynamic contrast from your records while remaining easy to set up and live with, it uses a Micro-Linear diamond stylus on a tapered aluminium cantilever to trace the groove with precision and low distortion. The high output of about 3.0mV means it pairs effortlessly with any standard moving magnet phono input, so there is no need for the extra gain or fussy loading that low output moving coil designs require.Engineering focus here is on faithful, musical tracking. The Micro-Linear diamond is mounted directly to the cantilever for lower moving mass and improved high frequency response, and the recommended tracking force of about 2.0 grams keeps the stylus stable in the groove. Standard half inch mounting fits MoFi turntables and virtually any other standard tonearm, and the replaceable stylus assembly means you can refresh the cartridge over time rather than replacing the whole unit. The MasterTracker is for the listener who wants a genuine reference grade moving magnet experience without moving into low output moving coil territory. It is an ideal match for MoFi's UltraDeck, PrecisionDeck and MasterDeck turntables, and a natural upgrade for anyone running a high quality belt drive deck who prefers the convenience and forgiving nature of a moving magnet cartridge.Key Features Top of MoFi's Tracker moving magnet cartridge line Nude elliptical diamond stylus for precise groove tracing and low distortion Lightweight aluminum cantilever for reduced moving mass High output of about 3.0mV works with any standard MM phono input Recommended tracking force of about 2.0 grams for stable, secure tracking Standard half inch mounting fits MoFi turntables and other standard tonearms Replaceable stylus assembly for long term serviceability Musical, detailed voicing tuned for real world listening How the MasterTracker ComparesMoFi MasterTracker vs Ortofon 2M BronzeBoth are high performance moving magnet cartridges aimed at listeners who want refinement without moving to low output moving coil. The 2M Bronze leans toward a smooth, richly voiced presentation with its nude Fine Line stylus, while the MasterTracker with its Micro-Linear diamond emphasizes clean tracking and lively dynamics. Choose based on the tonal character you prefer and your existing tonearm setup. The MasterTracker pairs a Micro-Linear profile with high output and easy standard MM compatibility. Both suit a listener who wants the convenience of moving magnet, so the decision comes down to voicing and preferred stylus profile. See the Audio Technica AT-VM760xSL.MoFi MasterTracker vs Ortofon MC Quintet BlueThe Quintet Blue is a low output moving coil cartridge that requires a phono stage with additional gain and loading adjustment, rewarding you with the airy, detailed character typical of moving coil designs. The MasterTracker is a moving magnet with high output that plugs into any standard MM input for a simpler, more forgiving setup. Pick the MC route if your system is built for it, or the MasterTracker for plug and play ease. See the Ortofon MC Quintet Blue.Recommended Turntable and Phono StageThe MasterTracker is a moving magnet cartridge, so it mounts on any standard tonearm and works with any moving magnet phono input. These MoFi decks and phono stages are natural matches. MoFi UltraDeck A precision belt drive turntable with a stable platter and refined tonearm that makes an ideal home for the MasterTracker's standard half inch mount. MoFi MasterDeck MoFi's reference turntable pairs beautifully with the flagship Tracker cartridge for a fully realized MoFi analog front end. MoFi UltraPhono Pro Its moving magnet input is a perfect match for the MasterTracker's high output, delivering clean gain in a compact package. MoFi MasterPhono The reference MoFi phono stage supports moving magnet cartridges and offers extensive adjustability for those who want to fine tune the MasterTracker's performance. Parasound XRM A capable phono preamplifier with a moving magnet input, giving the MasterTracker a clean, quiet gain stage in a broader system.
