An octagonal ceramic dish hand-painted in Coimbra, Portugal — a leaping deer surrounded by bold yellow and green botanical scrolls, pink flowers, and a dragonfly, all rendered in t he loose, confident brushwork characteristic of Coimbra's pottery tradition. The gold rim and white ground let the painting do the work. The backstamp confirms it was hand-painted by a named artist. Sits flat as a ring dish, jewellery catch-all, or simply a small piece of Iberian folk art on a shelf. Sourced from a brocante in Marseille. dimensions: 3.5"W x 3.5"D x 1.5"H Show more
