Make peanut feeding an enjoyable part of a well-kept garden Watching a clinging bird work at a peanut feeder adds a different kind of activity to the feeding area. Use the right holder, keep checking freshness and fit refilling and cleaning into the routine you already enjoy. High-Energy Protein Source for Garden Birds — Responsibly Sourced & Tested for Aflatoxins Peanuts are one of nature’s little powerhouses — packed with fat, protein and calories that help garden birds survive harsh weather and raise strong chicks. But here’s the truth: not all peanuts are created equal. Ours are premium-grade, aflatoxin-tested and responsibly sourced, so you can feed safely and confidently. Perfect for tits, nuthatches, woodpeckers and great spotted starlings, these peanuts are best used in a dedicated peanut feeder for safety. And while they’re brilliant in winter, they’re not the whole story — a varied seed mix gives birds the balanced diet they really need. Key Benefits High in protein and natural oils – vital fuel for winter and breeding seasons. Aflatoxin-tested – every batch is screened to protect birds from harmful mould toxins. Responsibly sourced – grown in regions where water use and deforestation are controlled. Excellent cold-weather feed – high fat content helps birds maintain body heat. Perfect for tit species, woodpeckers and nuthatches – strong beaks love peanuts! Best used in a mesh peanut feeder – prevents choking hazards for fledglings. Packed on our Herefordshire farm – mixed with care, zero filler, zero fuss. (All our feeds are packed in small batches for freshness. May contain traces of other nuts. Not for human consumption.) Why Our Peanuts Are Different Not all bird peanuts are equal — and when you’re feeding wildlife, quality really matters. ✔️ Carefully sourced, not commodity boughtWe don’t just buy the cheapest peanuts available. Ours are selected for quality and consistency, so your birds get the best. ✔️ Quality checked for safe feedingPeanuts can be risky if poorly stored. Wiggly Wigglers supply only top-quality bird peanuts, fully tested to ensure they contain no detectable signs of aflatoxin contamination. Peanuts are a rich source of protein, oil, and other important nutrients for many garden birds. They are an easy feed option for busy people who want to attract a variety of birds to their garden, leaving little mess behind. It's worth noting that there’s no way for us to grow peanuts in the UK as at the moment it’s too cold but they are a fascinating plant. They are unique because their plants flower above ground while the fertilised pods develop underground. After flowering, the stem of the peanut plant pushes the immature pod into the soil where it grows horizontally and matures safely. This underground development hides the pods, unlike other legumes which hang in the open. Each plant can produce over forty pods, each containing two or more peanuts, maturing over four to five months. Consequently, one plant can yield hundreds of peanuts. Suitable Feeder: IMPORTANT: Use in a mesh peanut feeder to ensure safe feeding and reduce the risk of young birds choking. Our farm is dedicated to advancing natural resources and carbon management, aiming for a sustainable future. Over the last 18 months, we have planted a complete wildflower meadow and created a new pond, significantly enhancing the habitat for local wildlife. You have helped us achieve this indirectly by using us for your birdfood supplies and directly by tipping us in the checkout for our Piggy Bank Project. The Wiggly Piggy Bank at Wiggly Wigglers aims to transform a 15-acre steep bank on Lower Blakemere Farm into Woodland Pasture, enhancing carbon sequestration, wildlife habitat, and grazing areas. This project is using free-range pigs for natural bramble clearance. With the goal of raising £12,000, the initiative is part of the farm's broader regenerative agriculture journey, which focuses on soil health, reducing chemical reliance, and increasing biodiversity.
