'Point Break' shows an Australian black-backed gull (the largest member of the gull family) preening its feathers on the shore as wild waves crash into the rocks behind it. This un ique work is an encaustic original, created using an ancient technique that involves burning layers of beeswax, hardeners and raw pigments into a wooden panel to create an archival painting. It's part of the Wild Coast Series, which celebrates the beautiful coastal scenery and wildlife of Northern New South Wales. Show more
