Private Ceramics Experience A private morning of making at Claymates Studio. Spend a relaxed morning in the studio creating a pair of hand-built ceramic pieces using flowers and foliage gathered from the garden and surrounds. Over two hours, I’ll guide you through making a small platter and matching serving bowl, using fresh botanical material to press texture and pattern into the clay. No previous ceramics experience is needed. The studio will be prepared especially for your visit, with flowers and everything laid out ready for you to begin. During the morning, we’ll pause for morning tea from Wildflora, served in the studio gallery. You’re also very welcome to bring your own wine or champagne to enjoy during your visit. Celebrating something special? Add a whole WildFlora cake to your experience for $70. After the workshop, your pieces stay with me in the studio. Once dry, they are bisque fired before I finish each piece by hand with a copper wash to bring out the botanical impressions, followed by a clear glaze and a second firing.
