Description The M5Stack PWRCAN module, officially named Module13.2 PwrCAN, is an isolated CAN RS485 module for M5Stack host systems that need robust field-bus communication and a shared power bus. The PWRCAN 13.2 module integrates two isolated CAN channels, one isolated RS485 channel, and a DC 9-24V power bus in one compact 13.2-series module. For industrial automation, robot control, protocol conversion, and vehicle communication prototypes, the M5Stack PWRCAN module gives developers one hardware block for data isolation, power input, bus wiring, and host power. The isolated CAN RS485 module uses dual CA-IS3050G CAN transceivers and one CA-IS3082W RS485 transceiver. It supports CAN speeds up to 1Mbps, RS485 speeds up to 500Kbps, up to 110 CAN nodes, and up to 256 RS485 nodes. DIP switches let the PWRCAN 13.2 module select GPIO mappings for CAN and RS485 communication, while onboard 120-ohm terminal resistors can be enabled when the bus layout requires termination. A built-in F0505S-2WR3 isolated power module provides isolated 5V power to the M5Stack host. Video Demonstration Watch the official M5Stack video directly after the description to see how the M5Stack PWRCAN module is positioned as an isolated CAN RS485 module for power and communication projects. Features Integrated bus module: the PWRCAN 13.2 module combines isolated dual-channel CAN, isolated RS485, and DC 9-24V power-bus support. Isolated CAN communication: dual CA-IS3050G CAN transceivers support two isolated CAN channels. Isolated RS485 communication: CA-IS3082W provides one isolated RS485 channel for Pwr485 or industrial serial-bus projects. Flexible power inputs: accepts power through the DC jack, HT3.96 RS485 interface, or XT30 CAN interface. Host power isolation: F0505S-2WR3 isolated power module supplies isolated 5V power to the M5Stack host. DIP-switch configuration: configure CAN and RS485 GPIO selections and enable onboard 120-ohm terminal resistors. Field-bus scalability: CAN supports up to 110 nodes, while RS485 supports up to 256 nodes. Power and Communication in One Module The M5Stack PWRCAN module is useful when a controller needs both communication isolation and a wide-voltage field supply. With XT30 and HT3.96 connectors, the isolated CAN RS485 module can simplify wiring for distributed control cabinets, robots, and gateway prototypes. Configurable Bus Termination The PWRCAN 13.2 module includes DIP-switch controlled 120-ohm terminal resistors for CAN and RS485 lines, helping developers match the board to the physical bus position. Protocol conversion: build gateways between CAN, RS485, and controller-side logic with the isolated CAN RS485 module. Industrial automation: deploy the PWRCAN 13.2 module in distributed control, sensor, and actuator networks. Vehicle communication systems: prototype isolated CAN communication while keeping host power separated from field wiring. Intelligent transportation: connect controllers, terminals, and monitoring equipment on robust industrial buses. Building automation: link equipment control and data collection nodes through CAN or RS485 field wiring. Product List 1 Module13.2 PwrCAN 1 HT3.96-4P connector 1 XT30(2+2)PW-M cable Other Content Connection Notes The M5Stack PWRCAN module accepts field power from three connector paths: a 5.5/2.1mm DC jack, the HT3.96 RS485 interface, or the XT30 CAN interface. This makes the isolated CAN RS485 module practical for systems where power and bus wiring share the same control cabinet or vehicle harness. Compared with separate power, CAN, and RS485 boards, the M5Stack PWRCAN module keeps the PWRCAN 13.2 module role clear: one isolated CAN RS485 module for field power, bus isolation, and host connection. The PWRCAN 13.2 module also reduces connector planning for compact cabinets. DIP Switch Reference Use the DIP switches on the PWRCAN 13.2 module to select host GPIO routing for CAN and RS485, and to enable terminal resistors when the module sits at the end of a bus line.
