Samebike M20: a Retro Fat-Tire E-Bike With a Bench Seat, and Every Figure Samebike Prints for It The Samebike M20 is a retro, moped-style e-bike on 20 × 4.0″ fat tires, with a long bench-style seat, a front fork you can lock out, a rear shock absorber, a large headlight, a Shimano 7-speed, a thumb control and a half-twist throttle. On its Canadian page Samebike headlines a 48 V 18 Ah battery, an 1,800 W peak motor, 100+ N·m, hydraulic disc brakes and a 25 km/h default speed setting. Samebike’s own pages disagree about the M20 on almost every line. Samebike Canada’s M20 Specification tab is the same text, line for line, as its RS-A02 Pro tab (foldable, 15 Ah, 33 kg, mechanical brakes), while the M20’s own feature panels and Samebike’s global, UK, Australian and US M20 pages print 18 Ah, hydraulic brakes and a bike that does not fold. We print every one with where it appears, so you can see the spread, and we will tell you which apply to the unit we ship. Fit: Samebike Canada’s chart recommends riders 5′6″–7′2″; its global chart says 5′3″–6′3″. Both print a single saddle height, not a range: 32.5″ from the ground and 28.3″ from the saddle down to the pedal (Canadian chart). Read the fit section before you order. Provinces also set their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules. Samebike’s M20 figures run from inside those limits to well past them: a 25 km/h default setting and a 500 W, 32 km/h spec tab on its Canadian page, but also an 1,800 W peak motor and a 50 km/h maximum in the same page’s headline; 1,000 W (global, UK, French pages) and 1,200 W (Australian and US pages). Its US page describes two power modes, “Standard (mode 1) : 250W/ 25km/ h/ PAS” and “Off-road (mode 2) : 1200W/ 50km/h / PAS+ throttle”, with the limit removed through the display. Its French page adds that the European version’s 25 km/h default can be unlocked “to reach 35KM/H or higher” with instructions from customer service. A bike that assists past 32 km/h or above 500 W is outside the limits the provincial rules converge on, and where a maker says the setting can change, whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled. Its moped styling matters in Québec, which has its own rule for vehicles that look like mopeds: Québec e-bike laws → Call us at 1-866-938-7580 and we will tell you how the unit we ship is set. Canadian e-bike laws by province → Samebike M20 Size Chart: Rider Height, Saddle Height and Every Dimension Samebike publishes the M20’s fit twice: a Size & Fit chart and pop-up on its Canadian page (the US and UK pages show the same chart), and a different chart and pop-up on its global page (the Australian page shows that one). We read both on 19 October 2026. They measure the same two saddle distances under different labels, and they print different rider ranges. Will the M20 fit you? Samebike’s numbers Recommended rider height: 5′6″–7′2″ (about 168–218 cm) on Samebike Canada’s chart; 5′3″–6′3″ (160–192 cm) on Samebike’s global chart. Saddle height: one value, not a range. Samebike Canada’s chart draws “Saddle height: 32.5″” from the ground to the top of the bench and “Foot and saddle height: 28.3″” from the bench down to the pedal at its lowest point. Samebike’s global chart draws the same two distances and labels them “Standover Height: 32.2″” and “Seat Height: 28.1”. Neither chart prints a second, higher saddle position. Weight and load: Samebike prints five bike weights and three load ratings for the M20 (see the table below). The heaviest weight, 58 kg on its US page, is the one to plan your stairs and car rack around until we confirm yours. Samebike’s M20 user manual has no specification table, so every figure here is from its product pages. Metric figures are our conversions. How to Check the Fit Before You Order The bench does not give you a range to work with. Samebike prints one saddle position, so check it against your legs rather than relying on the height range: 28.3″ from the bench to the pedal at its lowest point on the Canadian chart. How saddle height relates to fit. A review of the research on saddle height found the methods “varied and not well established” and suggested setting the saddle so the knee is bent 25–30° at the bottom of the pedal stroke (Bini, Hume and Croft, Sports Medicine, 2011; the paper →). With a fixed bench, how close you get to that depends on your inseam. Measure your inseam (floor to crotch, in socks, against a wall) and send it to us with your height before you order: 1-866-938-7580. Riders near the top of Samebike’s 7′2″ figure, or above its global chart’s 6′3″, especially. Plan for the weight. Samebike’s figures run from 33 kg to 58 kg; assume the heavier until we confirm. Where Samebike’s Own Figures Differ Samebike sells the M20 on six of its storefronts and prints different figures on each, and its Canadian Specification tab matches its RS-A02 Pro tab line for line. We print every figure with where it appears; call us and we will confirm the ones that matter to you against the unit we ship. Why the M20 Stands Apart in Our Samebike Line The M20 trades folding and light weight for a retro moped-style frame, a long bench seat and suspension at both ends. One saddle height, not a range. Samebike prints the bench at 32.5″ from the ground and 28.3″ from the saddle to the pedal, so check it against your inseam before you order. Suspension at both ends: a lockable front fork and a rear shock absorber on 20 × 4.0″ fat tires. A 48 V 18 Ah battery on the Canadian page’s feature panels (its spec tab says 15 Ah, and that tab repeats the RS-A02 Pro’s line for line). Heavy, whichever figure you take. Samebike’s pages put it at 33 to 58 kg (94.7 lb on the Canadian chart), so plan where it will live. What’s in the Box The bike, its battery charger and Samebike’s tools (two large wrenches, four Allen wrenches and a screwdriver): the box contents on the unpacking page of Samebike’s M20 manual. To fit at assembly, in the manual’s order: the handlebar and stem, the headlight, the front fender, the front wheel and the pedals; then connect the power. Samebike’s installation video is above, and your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video. Gift Box details → Key Features Retro moped styling on 20 × 4.0″ fat tires — Samebike pitches the tires for “snow, beach, road, or flat mud”. Moped-style e-bikes in Canada → Front and rear suspension — an adjustable fork you “unlock it for bumpy roads to absorb shocks, lock it on flat surfaces for a stable ride”, in Samebike’s words, plus a rear shock absorber and a shock-absorbing seat. Hydraulic disc brakes — on the M20’s feature panels and every other Samebike M20 page; the Canadian spec tab says mechanical. 48 V 18 Ah removable battery — Samebike: “a 60km pure electric range or a 90km assisted range”. Battery care in the cold → Controls — a thumb control (“One thumb controls the entire bicycle”) and a half-twist throttle (“safer than full twist”, Samebike says), a colour LCD and a Shimano 7-speed. A large headlight and a mid-frame basket — Samebike’s “Mid-Mounted Shopping cart” for groceries and gear. The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy One saddle position. Samebike prints a single saddle height for the M20 on both of its charts, so fit depends on your inseam more than on any adjustment. Send us your inseam first. Samebike’s own figures disagree on nearly every line. Five weights from 33 to 58 kg, motors from 250 W to an 1,800 W peak, 15 or 18 Ah, mechanical or hydraulic brakes. We print them all and will confirm yours. It is built to go faster than Canadian e-bike limits. Samebike headlines 50 km/h and an 1,800 W peak, and one owner in its global review summary reports 35 mph. Ridden that way it is outside the limits the provincial rules converge on; read the legal note above. If you want the retro look, fat tires and suspension at both ends, and you will ride it within your province’s rules, the M20 is the only moped-style bike in our Samebike line. Warranty and Zeus Care Your Samebike M20 is backed by Samebike in full, on Samebike Canada’s own published terms (read 19 October 2026): the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year, for the original owner, from the day the original owner receives the bike. Samebike describes the battery cover as a 1-year prorated warranty, and a frame claim covers a replacement frame only (labour to move parts across is not included). Free parts that come with the bike are not covered, and neither is a stolen bike. Samebike’s product page for this bike also prints “12 Months Warranty” (“our manufacturer’s 12 months warranty for the original owner against all manufacturing defects”); its warranty policy is the longer of the two for the frame. Not covered, in Samebike’s words: damage from accident, abuse, misuse or abnormal use, improper storage, exposure to liquid or chemicals, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, and damage from assembly, maintenance or repair that varies from Samebike’s instructions. Zeus handles the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim and follow it up, and assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are part of it. Zeus Care plans continue that service for $119 (1 year), $229 (2 years), $339 (3 years) or $599 (5 years); Zeus Care is a service, not a warranty, and does not add coverage (prices in CAD, October 2026). Samebike Canada: 68.9″ long, a 43.3″ wheelbase, 44.3″ tall and 26″ across the handlebar; Samebike’s global page: 68.3″ long, a 42.9″ wheelbase and a 43.9″ handlebar height. Overall sizes run 1.7–1.75 m long by page. Every dimension → How much does the M20 weigh, and how much can it carry? Samebike prints five weights: 33 kg (Canadian spec tab), 94.7 lb (Canadian chart), 37.5 kg (global chart), 40.5 kg (global, UK and Australian spec tabs) and 58 kg (US spec tab). Maximum load is 150 kg on the Canadian, global and UK pages and 180 kg on the global chart and the Australian and US pages. We will confirm the unit we ship. Is the M20 1000W, 1200W or 1800W? Samebike prints all three, and more: 500 W in its Canadian spec tab with an 1,800 W peak in the same page’s headline; 1,000 W on its global, UK and French pages; 1,200 W on its Australian and US pages; and 250 W in its global and UK spec tabs. Its US page describes a 250 W standard mode and a 1,200 W off-road mode. Ask us which applies to the unit we ship. Is the M20 legal in Canada? Not as Samebike headlines it: an 1,800 W peak motor and a 50 km/h maximum are outside the 500 W, 32 km/h limits the provincial rules converge on, and Samebike says the limit can be removed through the display. Whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled, and Québec has its own rule for vehicles that look like mopeds. Canadian e-bike laws → Does the M20 fold? Samebike’s UK, Australian and US pages say no. Samebike Canada’s spec tab says yes, but that tab matches its RS-A02 Pro tab line for line. If you need a folding fat-tire Samebike, the RS-A02 Pro and LOTDM200-II fold. How far does the M20 go on a charge? Samebike’s Canadian feature text says 60 km on electric power alone or 90 km with pedal assist; its headline says 70–140 km and its spec tab 55–110 km. Speed, the throttle, hills, cold and load all shorten it. Battery guide → Are there reviews of the Samebike M20? Samebike’s global page shows an AI-selected summary of its customer reviews: owners praise its hill-climbing and speed (one reports 35 mph), say it “runs very well”, and one mentions an initial brake error that needed a front-tire adjustment. What warranty comes with the M20? Samebike backs the Samebike M20 in full on Samebike Canada’s published terms: its warranty policy covers the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year (the battery on a prorated basis), and its product page says 12 months; for the original owner. Zeus files and follows up the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included. Warranty details → How long does delivery take? Free shipping anywhere we deliver in Canada. Orders are processed in 1–3 business days after we confirm them, then take 2–7 business days in transit depending on where you live, and the tracking number comes by email. We do not ship to P.O. boxes or remote communities, so call us first at 1-866-938-7580 if you live in one. Shipping policy → Also worth knowing before you buy How hard is assembly? Samebike’s installation video is on this page, and your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video: 1-866-938-7580. Can I ride the M20 in winter? For lithium-ion cells, Battery University’s BU-410 table permits discharge, which is riding, from −20 °C to 60 °C and charging only from 0 °C to 45 °C: “No charge permitted below freezing.” Samebike’s French store, on its spare-battery page, says to charge the battery only indoors, in a dry place, neither too hot nor too cold (our translation). So bring the battery inside after a cold ride and let it warm up before you charge it. Samebike says the 4-inch fat tires keep the ride stable “whether it’s snow, beach, road, or flat mud”.
