The drink True North is bright in the glass and dry on the finish. Burnt orange and roasted agave come first. Smoke and bitter botanicals sit underneath. A slow flicker of heat arrives last, after you have swallowed. It is bitter the way an amaro is bitter, rather than sweet the way most alcohol-free drinks are sweet. Complex enough to sit where a negroni or a paloma would, without the alcohol. Taste: smoky, bittersweet, botanical, citrus, dry. What is in it Gentian for the bitterness. Agave nectar, burnt orange and capsicum for depth and body. Ashwagandha, panax ginseng and damiana, the three botanicals the blend is built around. The colour comes from carrot and blackcurrant concentrates. Vegan. Gluten free. Under 0.5% ABV. High caffeine content. Not recommended for children or pregnant or breast-feeding women (116mg/100ml). Around 58mg of caffeine in a 50ml serve. How to drink it Nomadic Smoky Spritz. 50ml with 100ml tonic or soda in a large wine glass full of ice. Garnish with orange or red grapefruit.
